WORK IN PROGRESS: Other Aviation Posters |
| Aviation is
an extremely popular subject topic and we plan on covering every
aspect of it. |
|
 |
Military Aircraft Series.
We are using state-of-the-art CAD (computer aided design)
programs to create magnificently detailed images of all the aircraft
shown in this series. This is the same technology used to create
the dinosaurs in the movie Jurassic Park. Although this
is very time-consuming and expensive process, but once the model has
been created, it rotated in any direction and thus can be used for
many things.
Aircraft are almost always shown in profile. We are
using this exciting new technology to show them from a low angle, thus
revealing the all-important wing shape. We are also able to
combine images of related aircraft into one master illustration,
showing all to the same scale. By adding a sky background, it
appears that all are flying in formation. The result is
outstanding. We are also using the CAD model to create 3-view
titles of each aircraft. All will be combined together into a
subject-specific collection. This is well demonstrated by our
first such collection,
USAF
Strategic Bombers.
The Air Force has so many fighters that we are dividing them
into two collections. Other collections include: USAF Tanker and
Cargo Aircraft, USAF Assault Aircraft and Tactical Bombers, USAF Recon
and Training Aircraft and a very unique collection - In-flight
refueling.
We recognize that the Air Force does not have a monopoly on
military aircraft. Other collections include: US
Army Air Force Warplanes of World War II, USN Warplanes of WWII,
Modern USN Aircraft, US Army Helicopters, and US Coast Guard Aircraft (fixed and rotary wing) |
 |
Commercial Aviation
The illustrations for the first two titles have been completed are
now being assembled for printing. They are International
Airliners and US Domestic Airliners. Each shows 30 airliners.
(Because there are so many images, they must be shown in profile.)
Extensive research went into the selection of airliners and aircraft.
All of the international airliners fly to and from the United States
and all parts of the world are well represented. All US based
airlines are represented. Great care went into shows as many
different planes as possible. |

Milestones of Flight Series
Inspired by the National Air and Space Museum collection of
the same name, this series of posters will show advances in various
aspects of aviation. There have been so many notable event in
aviation history, it is impossible to fit them all on one "timeline"
poster, so we are spreading the subject across an entire series. Together the
various titles provide an extremely
comprehensive overview of aviation history. Each will show large
highly-detailed images of twelve to fifteen aircraft. The first on each poster will be the Wright Flyer as
it is always the starting point. Each poster will start with
biplanes then progress step-by-step to modern day jets. Although
the United States has certainly been the world leader in aviation,
valuable contributions have come from other countries, so aircraft of
the world will be shown. Each aircraft will be accompanied by a
caption citing its accomplishments. Subjects include Advances
in Technology, Commercial Aviation, Speed
Records and Distance Records. Experimental Aircraft will be the
catch-all for the one-of-kind. Such as the Hughes Spruce Goose
and the Dornier seaplane. |

Flight Heritage Series
The titles in this series show subjects that are often ignored.
Titles include Private Aircraft, Commercial Helicopters, Seaplanes,
and Balloons. One of our most colorful will be The
Flying Machines. Inspired by the famous 1909 Reims, France
Air Race, it show all the great aircraft of the day in carnival-type
atmosphere. |
|
|
| The research on this title resulted in
what we think will be one of our most popular: Aviation Fantasies
and Failures. The incredible looking machines that didn't
fly, such as those shown above |
 |
Famous Aircraft
Unlike our other posters that show groups of related
aircraft, these will focus on a single aircraft or a group of related
aircraft. Titles include: The Wright Flyer, Air Force One, and Boeing's
747.
Famous Air Units
These posters focus on the military units that flew various
aircraft. First are five titles honoring the Strategic Air
Command that provided our nation's first line of defense during the
cold war. They are part of the
USAF Strategic
Bombers Collection. Future subjects include 8th
Air Force and B-29 units of World War II and the modern-day USAF
Combat Command.
