WORK IN PROGRESS: International Airlines

B222 International Airlines
The United States dominates the international air travel market, but in compiling this poster one of our primary goals were to represent as many different countries as we could.  Because of this, we had to limit the number of U.S. airlines that we could show.  However, they are all shown on the Domestic Airlines poster.
Boeing so dominates the long-flight market that it was not possible to show as wide a variety of aircraft as we would have liked. Literally thousands of photographs were reviewed to find designs that could help capture the international flavor by providing the widest possible range of designs. This effort resulted in the colorful and primitive aborigines art used by Quantas and the giant ceremonial canoe that spans the length of Thailand aircraft. Special care was taken to insure that the aircraft shown actually flies to the United States by finding a photo of it at a U.S. airport. All aircraft are show to the same scale.  The airliners, country of origin and aircraft are listed below.
Although all of our illustrations were based on photographs taken in 2004, toward ensuring accuracy, we just replaced ten of the pictures because of new aircraft, new livery, airliner is out of business or new airplanes. The most notable addition is the Airbus 380. The first one is now flown by Singapore Airlines.
